The Luminous Trio
Alcohol %
Three whites. One rare grape at the center.
Chimney Rock is known for Cabernet, but its whites tell a different story. This trio gathers three of them: a rosé, a single-varietal Sauvignon Gris, and Elevage Blanc, the winery’s proprietary white blend. Sauvignon Gris is a rarity in Napa Valley, and it runs through two of the three bottles. It’s a gift for the white wine lover who wants something beyond the usual, and it arrives in a 3-bottle gift box.
2024 Elevage Rosé
2025 Sauvignon Gris
A copper-colored grape and a natural variant of Sauvignon Blanc, and a true rarity in Napa Valley. Chimney Rock first planted it in Rutherford in 2002. It usually goes into Elevage Blanc, but the fruit is good enough to bottle on its own. Expect peach, citrus, and white floral notes, with bright acidity and a lush mid-palate.
2024 Elevage Blanc | 94 points, Jeb Dunnuck
In 2002, Anthony Terlato Sr. asked the winemaking team for a white wine to match the caliber of Elevage, the winery’s proprietary red. The result is a blend of 64% Sauvignon Gris and 36% Sauvignon Blanc, modeled on the great white wines of Bordeaux. Apricot and white peach, with lemon curd, brioche, and a touch of guava. It’s full-bodied and opulent, with a round, viscous mid-palate and a long, bright finish. It’s barrel fermented and aged 6 months. Wine Spectator gave it 91 points. Chimney Rock calls it the white wine for the red wine drinker.
