2016 Ganymede Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2016 vintage started off with an average rainfall winter which was a bit of a relief for us after three very dry years. Soil profiles remained filled into late in the season with many blocks not being irrigated until late August or even early September. Winter and Spring temperatures were warm, so this gave us early bud break and veraison. What ensued was a mild September and a fairly well paced Cabernet harvest. No heat spikes allowed us to pick exactly when we needed to, never feeling rushed.
