Vineyard Notes
Within our 119 acres of vineyards of the Chimney Rock estate, there is an incredible combination of soil types, solar exposures, and elevations. This singular geography allows the winemaking team to showcase a wide range of wines that reflect the precise locations in which they were grown. Perhaps the best example of this unique signature is our Alpine Vineyard.
Easily the highest vineyard on the estate, it is also the most challenging area to cultivate, and the block’s steep, terraced rows and volcanic, well-drained soils only allow a miniscule amount of fruit per vine. However, the extra effort is truly worth it, as this special vineyard invariably provides rich, luxurious wines that also possess subtle but clear aromatic hints of dried herbs.
A true signature reflection of its singular terroir, the Cabernet Sauvignons from the Alpine Vineyard are among the most limited and coveted of any wines at Chimney Rock.
