Tasting Notes

This wine is imbued with aromas of intense blackberry, creme de cassis, cedar and a hint of lavender. This wine is young though you may enjoy it now as it already offers much nuanced aromatics. The structure of this wine says "power cab" - but the finesse shows at a young age

Vineyard Notes

Located along the northern edge of our estate, the Ganymede Vineyard annually consistently offers the finest traits of both hillside and benchland fruit. This vineyard takes its name from the legendary mortal who, in Greek mythology, served as cup-bearer to the gods. In similar fashion, this vineyard annually satisfies even the most challenging palates, deftly walking the finest of lines between lush fruit, robust structure and remarkable aging potential.

Production Notes

The 2008 vintage brought us some early frost challenges but a beautiful warm growing season. Consequently the yields were low and the quality extraordinary. This was the warmest vintage of the decade second only to 2004. In contrast to the 2007 wines, there is a slightly more elegant structure and, though the wines have beautiful aromatics, this vintage carries with it more nuance and less flash.
