A magnum of wine is a relic that calls for tradition, rite and celebration. The sheer weight of the bottle imposes a sense of importance. We believe these bottles are precious and can be savored at a time of one’s life that requires highlighting. In 2013 we crafted our first Kesu Cabernet Sauvignon. We present you with the release of our 2015 Kesu, the only wine at Chimney Rock made only for magnums. A mere 97 cases of this wine were produced. Kesu, the Wappo word for deer, honors the legendary stag that leaped across the massive rocks of the Palisades above us. The 2015 vintage is the kind of year worthy of creating legends. It inspired our winemaking team to create a wine that will require your patience. Age it for a few years for that special moment and you will be rewarded greatly.Aroma: Aromas of kirsch, black currant, mocha, with hints of mint and vanilla.
Flavor: On the palate this wine is full bodied with a rich and luscious mid palate. The tannins are supple with a long finish, yet powerful and worthy of ageability.
