Chimney Rock
Rosé of Merlot
Stags Leap District 2011
| Vintage: | 2011 |
| Varietal: | Merlot |
| Appellation: | Stags Leap District |
| Alcohol %: | 14.20% |
| Tasting Notes: | This Rosé has richness and beautiful texture in the palate. It is full bodied and has a beautiful burst of fruit in the front palate which makes it a wonderful and versatile wine for the table. |
| Vineyard Notes: | Our Rose’ has originated from either our Stags Leap District Estate Cabernet Franc Shop Block or from one of our outstanding Merlot blocks. No matter the origin, the fruit character is unmistakable – bright and lively. |
| Production Notes: | This vintage was perhaps one of the most challenging of the decade in terms of rainfall. Rain during bloom of our Cabernet Vineyards greatly reduced yields, but this facilitated ripening in a cold year. In addition to the rain in the spring and during harvest, we had very cool temperatures throughout the ripening season as well as some harvest rains. The positive aspects of this vintage were lower sugars, and very good fruit integrity at the crush pad. |
