Tasting Notes
The wine is highlighted by blackberry and cocoa aromas but also shows notes of tobacco and a very delicate hint of lavender. The character of the fruit is dark & brooding-which is typical of this vineyard. There is an austerely and gravitas about the weight and depth of this wine which is quite remarkable. It retains the elegance of Stags Leap however and has great promise for aging.Vineyard Notes
Located along the northern edge of our estate, the Ganymede Vineyard annually consistently offers the finest traits of both hillside and benchland fruit. This vineyard takes its name from the legendary mortal who, in Greek mythology, served as cup-bearer to the gods. In similar fashion, this vineyard annually satisfies even the most challenging palates, deftly walking the finest of lines between lush fruit, robust structure and remarkable aging potential.Production Notes
The 2007 vintage brought us extraordinary fruit in the Stags Leap District. A dry spring and a warm year in comparison to the previous two vintages greatly reduced the berry size on our property.
