Chimney Rock Elevage Blanc White Wine Napa Valley 2010
| Vintage: | 2010 |
| Wine Type: | White Wine |
| Appellation: | Napa Valley |
| Alcohol %: | 14.20% |
| Tasting Notes: | This wine is bursting with citrus and tropical aromatics: Buddha’s hand, white nectarine, and Imperial lemon, complemented by lingering shades of vanilla and peach crème brulee. This wine is a New World, full of plush, mouth-filling flavors that transcend into a bright, clean finish. This wine thrives in the shadowlands that exist between Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The light will seem brighter, the food will taste better, and the wine will elevate it all. |
| Vineyard Notes: | Crafted from our 8 acre vineyard on Mee Lane in Rutherford both our Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris were planted in 2002. These vines from well drained soils, have produced extraordinary fruit from an early age and have earned us recognition in the creation of this wine of texture and ageability. |
| Production Notes: | This was a year of extremes. Greatly below average temperatures we were on track for one of the coolest years of the decade. An extreme heat spike in late August and another in September threw us some challenges and reduced our yields. The resulting wines are fairly elegant and balanced. |
