Cellar Selection
Description:
Welcome to our cellar… we put together two of our favorite library wines from the 2004 vintage to create this rare collection from Chimney Rock Winery. The 2004 vintage will be remembered by a long, mostly mild growing season, followed by warm weather near the end of September that pushed the ripening level upward, concentrated fruit flavors and condensed the harvest. An early April frost and May rains gave way to a mild summer with ideal growing conditions - warm days and cool, even cold, nights.
Tasting Notes:
2004 Elevage: The wine is graceful and harmonious with stylish finesse, supple texture and gorgeous ripe flavors. The integration of fruit flavors supported by elegant oak tones is testimony to the artistic craftsmanship at work in the creation of the wine. The palate bursts with dark fruit in the front extending into a delicate but lengthy finish.
2004 Cabernet Sauvignon: Overall, the grape crop was balanced, showing excellent intense colors and flavor concentrations. Black Cherry and vanilla originating from the delicate oak used in aging. produced fruit of exceptional quality.
